Spicy bread bath has a taste of mild sweet, sour and spicy. If you have a tight time constraint in the morning but still want to make a good wholesome breakfast, then this dish is quick and easy to make. Instead of taking bread toast with butter/sauce, this bread bath will give you a different taste for a change up. You can take this breakfast along with a cup of coffee.

20 minutes 3 persons

INGREDIENTS

Bread - 10 slices
Onion - Chopped 1
Tomato - 1 No. Sliced
Lemon Juice – 1 Lemon
Salt
Ghee or Butter
Water – 1/4 Cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
Coriander Leaves – 2 sprigs
Urad Dal – 1/2 tsp
Green Chilli – 2 Nos.

RECIPE STEPS

STEP 1

Take tawa or pan and roast the bread one by one by applying ghee or butter ( I prefer ghee because it gives a tasty aroma).

STEP 2

Slice the roasted bread into small pieces and keep it aside.

STEP 3

In a kadai or pan on the gas stove, prepare the seasoning ingredients for half a minute, now fry green chilli and chopped onion for 2 minutes, then add sliced tomato and cook until they are soft.

STEP 4

Now add 1/4 cup of water and lemon juice to the seasoning ingredients. Let it boil for half a minute.

STEP 5

Add the sliced bread to the spicy mix and cook for 10 minutes.

STEP 6

Switch off the stove. Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot.
